History of Rugby Games

Today, however, the game has grown from a game of leisure to a professional game that has garnered millions of fans worldwide. It is just simply incredible.
Many games bearing similarity to Rugby are played all around the world. The Fute ball, for example, is one game that is strikingly similar to Rugby and used to be popularly played in ancient England.
Rugby games were played in courts where the distance each goal post is approximately a hundred yards. The ball used in rugby is somewhat similar to the ones used in American football only that it is bigger. The goal area covers about 22 yards and it is situated outside the goal line.
Rugby in general is a team sport with an oval-shaped ball that may be carried around, kicked and passed from player to player. Teams score when they are able to ground the ball behind the opposing team's goal line. Another way a team can score is by having the ball kicked between the two posts and over the opposing team's goal's crossbar. The main goal of rugby is for the player to move the ball forward by means of running with it or kicking it. As is most sports, the team with the highest score always wins.
Rugby is an effusive game that showcases strength, speed and strategic thinking in order to move a ball into the opposing team's territory. Rugby is actually a full-contact sport and yet we see that rugby players hardly wear any protective gear at all. Rugby is distinctly similar to Football (soccer) and is often referred to by many as a game "played in heaven".
Game Rules
A match commences with a kick-off from the mid-field and must go about at least 10 meters. The game is played at a fast pacethere are only a few stops and there is constant possession changes. All the players, no matter what position they're playing, must be able to pass, kick, throw, run and catch the ball. At the same time, all the players in the game must be capable of tackling and defending which means each of the player's position is offensive and defensive at the same time.
